QTP Got Stuck When Clicked On File Menu - Solution

It's common that every project will have a shared location to store the Automation Scripts. In some of the projects QC will be used to store  the automation scripts.
When you open a script from local or shared location or from QC, the opened script path will be stored in QTP recent files list which will be displayed in File menu . If you want to open again you just need to open File Menu -> Select test from recent file list. This option is for providing better usability to the user. But users are facing problem if the test is from shared location or from QC.

In some of the situations QTP will get stuck when user clicked on file menu. The reason for this problem is Broken Recent Opened Scripts list. If you have opened any script which is from Shared drive or QC and the if we have lost the connection of QC or Shared Drive then we get this problem.
To overcome this problem we have to delete QTP Recent Files History. To delete it, Close QTP, go to below path in registry and delete all values for Recent File List Key and Start QTP.
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Softwares\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\QuickTest Professional\Recent File List

After deletion you can see File menu like below and the problem is solved.
